Clients Objectives
Westin Hotels & Resorts remodeled a historic Detroit landmark into the 455-room Westin Book Cadillac Hotel with eight floors of condominiums, numerous ballrooms, meeting rooms, restaurants, and a fitness center. They needed top-notch fire protection systems to safeguard their total building investment.
Solutions
Shambaugh designed, fabricated, and installed complete fire protection including:
- 37 wet automatic sprinkler systems
- Dry pipe sprinkler system
- Multiple-zone standpipe system
- 6,000 sprinkler heads
- Nine miles of sprinkler pipe
- Electric fire pump (1,500 gpm)
