Value Delivered

Shambaugh & Son is honored to have been on the Design-Build team selected to perform the MEP design and construction for the repair and renovation work at Bloomingdale Elementary School for Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS). Fort Wayne Community passed a referendum allowing FWCS to perform basic infrastructure renewal, restoration, and safety improvements to multiple schools. For Bloomingdale Elementary and Harris Elementary Schools, FWCS was willing to stray from traditional design-bid-build delivery and award the construction based on a Design-Build method.

Solutions

Shambaugh & Son worked closely with FWCS and our Design-Build partners to design and install new systems for this 44,000 sf building built in 1964. The original schedule allowed 2 years for the project; however, our team performed design and construction within an 8-month duration delivering results 16 months ahead of schedule with all of construction happening over one summer. Bloomingdale Elementary School achieved Energy Star Certification.
