Ehrmann’s Arizona Dairy, CASA GRANDE, AZ
The client needed a large dairy facility designed to handle 440 million pounds of milk per year to be used in the production of Greek yogurt.
Shambaugh & Son was selected as the Design/Build partner for this new fast-tracked 99,000 square-foot dairy in Casa Grande, Arizona. This plant has process spaces and utility infrastructure that has been designed for future expansion and new products.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The new facility consists of process, fermentation and filling areas, tanker receiving, cooler, dry storage and dock areas, as well as utility/maintenance and office/employee spaces.
Equipment highlights include:
- Three 150 HP hot water boilers
- Two 30 HP steam boilers
- Two 500 ton chillers
- Two 50 HP oil-free air compressors
- One 50 HP 15 PSIG blower for sterile air
- One closed circuit fluid cooler for precooling products with indirect tower water to reduce chilled water load
