BIM Efficiency—27 Jobs & Counting—Lessons Learned

Seven (7) years and twenty-seven (27) 3D BIM projects later, Shambaugh & Son’s 3D modeling team has applied their lessons learned to become more efficient in supporting fabrication and field installation. Taking the advantages of 3D modeling beyond optimizing design and constructability, eliminating field conflicts, and prefabrication is our goal. Using the model to automatically generate bill of materials and scheduling (4D) of time and labor resources is becoming the “new normal” with Shambaugh.
